ASTRID KUHN
Astrid Kuhn is one of those girls who’s always dreamed of working in television ...but pleased her parents studying commerce at the U of C instead. After running (in sneakers) her own corporation for 10 years, the TV bug bit her hard, so she sold her music business to study Broadcast News at SAIT. Immediately she became Calgary’s Weather Girl… fashionably warning women of warm winds and pointing out perfect stiletto weather. She’s worked as reporter, weather anchor and TV Host for City TV, Shaw, CBC and now hangs her sandals at Global. Astrid’s been nominated for YWCA’s Woman of Distinction, AMFIA – Best Host and in 2007 just squeaked in at 39 as one of Calgary Inc.’s 40 Under 40.
Calgary raised... she knows how weather affects what shoes to wear. With almost 10 years of Calgary weather reporting, she's able to quickly step into Paul and Todd's big shoes (wearing her size 8 Prada platforms).
Astrid also slips into Women in Film and Television Alberta shoes as VP and dons steel-toed shoes when volunteering with Habitat for Humanity or building homes with her church in Mexico.
She rests her feet when taxiing her 3 hardworking teens and dining out with her thoughtful husband of almost 20 years.
