Shock to the System
Wednesday, September 16th & Thursday, September 17th
The Alberta Government has given the green light for the constrcution of two multi-billion dollar transmission lines between Calgary and Edmonton, and Calgarians will be paying for it.
The province says the lines are needed because our electrical delivery system is too old, inefficient and unable to meet the needs of a growing economy. But the power project means Calgarians will be on the hook for up to $4 billion dollars!
In our special series, "Shock to the System", Global News reporter Doug Vaessen will plug into the agruments both for and against the construction of the power lines.
Tune into the News Hour Wednesday, September 16th and Thursday, September 17th to watch.
